Welcome to www.traillink.com, a free service from Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. TrailLink.com includes access to trail descriptions, photos, reviews, maps and blogs and such other services as may be made available from time to time by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. This form is a legal agreement between you and Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. (RTC).

Terms & Conditions:

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has published the information contained in this site for informational purposes only. You may freely search, view, download and print the documents and information contained on this site for personal and non-commercial purposes only which is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind.

Disclaimer:

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and its employees make no warranty, express or implied, and assumes no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy of the data contained in this site. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has attempted to verify the accuracy of the GIS and trail data for internal purposes, however, the GIS data or trail data contained in this site may contain possible inaccuracies or omissions and should in no way be used as a legal description.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is currently collecting spatial data and descriptions for all open and project rail-trails in the country. You will be able to generate an accurate ZIP code search result on all trails for which we have spatial data. For trails that we do not yet have geographic coordinates for, the search function will use the center point of the county or counties the trail passes through and the result can be less accurate.

Trail Use and Volunteer Disclaimer:

I understand that trail use can be a hazardous activity that has risks, including injury or death resulting for accident or physical exertion. I agree, as a consideration of, an in consideration for being permitted to use TrailLink.com and any third party content provide herein, to freely and expressly assume and accept any and all risks of injury or death.

I understand that if I choose to voluntarily collect trail data in support of RTC’s mapping initiative; I do so of my own accord and not at the direction of RTC. Personal Information We Collect and How We Use That Information:

Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. Text), address, interests, and similar information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers. To review your personal information and request corrections you may contact our membership department by emailing RTC Membership, calling 202-974-5105, faxing 202-223-9257 or writing to Rails-to-Trails Conservancy Membership Department, 2121 Ward Court NW 5th Floor Washington, DC 20037.

Use of Personal Information:

The information you supply will be used by RTC to contact you about new trails or events in your geographic area; to keep you notified of developments in rail-trails related activities; to give you updates on changes to www.traillink.com; contact you with questions about your account or information you submit to the site; and to allow you to log your photos, reviews and GIS data and share experiences with other users. Authorized third parties may be used by RTC to collect, track and process such information. It may be necessary, if required by law or if pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations, to release your personally identifiable information. If you have submitted personal information to RTC and would like it removed or modified, please contact us. We will use reasonable efforts to comply with your request.

Permission to Use Information you submit to TrailLink.com:

You hereby grant to Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) permission in perpetuity to use the images, reviews, and electronic data including GIS data on any of RTC's Web sites, publications, newsletters, brochures, fundraising appeals, public service announcements, Rails to Trails magazine, "house" ads, grant proposals, reports, awards, displays, mailings and invitations, sponsorship packets, annual reports, calendars, posters, cards, books, and/or paid advertising. RTC's rights herein may be licensed to an unlimited number of third parties.

Internet Protocol Address:

We collect an IP address from all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, track users' movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Use of "Cookies":

Our site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our site. Cookies are pieces of information that some Web sites transfer to the computer that is browsing that Web site and are used for record-keeping purposes at many Web sites.
