Description:
From : Indiana Trails

Scenic, rustic trail which leads from downtown just a little ways into the rolling Sugar Creek Valley, crossing Sugar Creek high over a massive iron bridge. Thorntown is one of the best examples left of a genuine, functional, rural Indiana small-town. Quaint houses, majestic old trees, and people of all ages can be found along its quiet, unadorned, gently sloping streets. Traffic barely trickles through its country crossroads and the undisturbed calm is pervasive. Thorntown has very promising potential as an attractive destination for cross-country recreational tourists (who are typically low-impact since they bring little added traffic) if it can be linked into a long-distance trail network such as the Farm Heritage Trail corridor from Lebanon to Lafayette. Many other such rural towns across the Midwest have enjoyed the social and economic benefits that accompany a multi-use, off-road trail link.
