Data Sharing Opportunities
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) is an official content provider for Google Maps. Our robust GIS mapping initiative has resulted in more than 16,000 miles of mapped trail throughout the United States. RTC donated our entire GIS database to Google for inclusion in their base layer maps and Biking Directions. This data set continues to grow as we’ve expanded the program to include all multi-use trails.
Similarly, our GIS data and trail content on TrailLink.com can be utilized by other organizations in a wide variety of ways through a data sharing partnership with RTC. If you are interested in utilizing this data on your website, in online promotional campaigns, or as content in a smart phone application or other service, please contact us. Users of the data must meet minimum partnership criteria and are required to sign a data-sharing agreement.
Hotel, Camping and Bed-and-Breakfast Partners
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) has affiliate relationships with
IHS Advantage,
Reserve America and
BedandBreakfast.com. These affiliate partners are quality reservation providers offering thousands of accommodation options and secure internet reservation services. TrailLink.com makes it easy to find accommodations near a trail by listing nearby hotels on each individual trail page allowing users to see lodging options with proximity to a trail. As an affiliate, RTC receives a percentage commission for every reservation that comes from TrailLink.com.
So, when finalizing your travel plans use TrailLink.com and know you are supporting further development of TrailLink.com and making a difference for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy—a non-profit helping to build more trails in communities across the country.
