I don't know when I have had a better joy-biking experience. My two boys and I will remember the experience for the rest of our lives. Hope to return for more soon.

"First time on this trail July 2006. The scenery is very nice, picnic tables, available water, all make for a nice trail. The pavement is being torn up by tree roots, though, so it's time for a little TLC?"

"Between school, work, family, and friends, I've lived and been around this trail for a long time now. My kids and I have walked it, biked it, and bladded it in all four seasons. It seems that there is always something new to see, and always something interesting to do. It's become part of hte backdop of our lives.
Head over and walk there and see for yourselves!"

"Draper was the start point for my wife and I when we rode our Cannondale road tandem on July 10. It was a hot and muggy day but the cool shade in the woods made it very tolerable. Again, our 700x35c Pasela tires worked very well with our 500+lb mass on the mostly smooth packed surface. On the way to Alisonia the description mentioned a few trestles to cross. These turned out to be thrillingly high tower-type bridges where the tracks (now trail deck) rest on the very top of the structure. It was like flying. Plus, the long bridge over the New River is a scenic highlight of any rail trail. Access is easy in Draper (right off 81) and the little store across the street cannot be missed. This trail section has grades we could definitely feel but managed in the best double-headed locomotive way. Altogether we felt safe, comfortable and pleased to be there. Be aware of the chains across the trail center at road crossings. We will be back soon and try more, maybe at the Shot Tower park.

"We rode this trail on July 4 from the south end up a ways and return on a Cannondale road tandem. It was an absolute blast. The surface is well packed gravel and surprisingly smooth for non-pavement. We had Panaracer 700x35 Pasela tires pumped up to 100psi, which handled our 500+lb freight train very well. It is a very beautiful, lightly used (on this day) trail that gives one a nice sense of wilderness. A couple of campsites looked to be OK, right next to the trail and river with a toilet closet nearby. We did hit one recent repair section consisting of looser gravel which stopped us like one of those runaway truck ramps. We will be back soon to try a more northern section.
J & B
PS- follow the brown signs on 64N to the southern trail end, it's much harder to find from Lewisburg. "

Pedestrian walkways and resting areas and parks are being finished on former piers. The Hudson River Greenway keeps getting better all the time.

"Well, if you are curious to ride this trail be prepared to stop at road crossings every three minutes or so. The scenery is pretty industrial looking. I'd rather drive further down the highway and bike along the beaches past the highlands."

"This is a nice paved, suburban trail, although the trail is crowded with lots users who never got the ""On your left lesson."" They stop in the middle of the trail without warning. They ride two and three abreast, some on the wrong side of the trail. Joggers move from side to side. There is a trail opening at Chester Station where five women riding together stopped to chat. A gentleman had to go over and literally tell them to clear the opening and to get off the trail so others could pass. They became indignant.
The usual rules of any trail should be posted. It's nice to see a well used trail, but save this one for a day off during the week.
**ADDITIONAL NOTE**
I road this trail again on Sunday, March 21, 2004, starting at 1:15 p.m. I was the only rider for 20 miles. I did see five walkers. I also saw deer, great blue heron, hawks and cows (can't forget them). It was a very pleasant ride for early in the year."

This trail is really beautiful. It's easy to ride and there's great scenery. My only complaint is that the designated parking areas are hard to find. It's worth the effort though!

"I had a chance to do the first seven miles of this trail out of Taylorville. It is a great trail, paved and well signed. The starting point in Talorville is hard to find but well worth it as you wind through trees for the first three miles before opening out into corn fields."
