Great River State Trail Trip to Perrot Park By rheffy in 8/22/2010 10:16:45 PM | Despite some difficulty finding the trail head we started our trip in Onalaska and traveled to Perrot Park. We enjoyed a picnic lunch there, chatted with the rangers, climbed up Brady's Bluff for spectatular views of Mississippi. The trail itself is mostly through the marsh with lots of bridges and wildlife (we saw two cranes strolling on the trail) along the way. Elroy-Sparta State Trail August in Sparta By rheffy in 8/22/2010 10:06:41 PM | We road this trail from Elroy to Sparta and back. Although it was a hot (Mid 80s) and muggy day, the shade of the trail canopy made for a enjoyable ride. As we approached the tunnels, there was a blast of cool air. The walk through the tunnels provided a brief cool respite. Once in Sparta we checked out the depot and followed the advise of the Chamber of Commerce folks and headed off to Ginny's Cupboard for the best home made lunch and peach cobbler.
