I started my ride on this trail at Fort Lee NJ. From there I rode across the George Wahington bridge, picked up the trail and rode to the Brooklyn bridge and back for about a 30 mile ride. The pedestrian path at the NYC end of the bridge is very narrow and pretty steep. Also from the steet level down to the trail at the red lighthouse is very steep. From here on the trail was level and very easy peddlilng. Traffic was light at the north end, but very heavy the further south you go. If you like big city riding, this trail is for you. Except for the steep parts at the bridge, this is a very enjoyable ride.

I have ridden this trail many times and always find it very enjoyable ride. Recently rode the southern end of the trail from Jim Thorpe to Rockport and back, which I consider most scenic. I actually got to see a bald eagle up very close during the ride. Try to ride this trail during the week and you will have this trail practially to yourself. If riding on a weekend, try to start at White Haven or Rockport, the traffic for the train ride at Jim Thorpe gets pretty bad.

I recently rode the trail from washington to mt. vernon and back. The first few miles out of washington were ok. The spot at the end of the runway by the airport was pretty neat. When I got to Alexandria, I found the trail confusing and poorly marked. I rode through town and picked up the trail south of town. From there on I found the trail not your average rail trail level. There was an especially steep hill at the end of trail up to Mt.Vernon. Also you have to be paying attention, the trail is narrow and there were plenty of Lance wannabes

I recently visited the wmrt. I found this to be a great trail. I started at Big Poole and peddeled the entire length. I found this trail to be flat and very easy peddeling. The scenery on the western part of the trail was great. I hope to visit again sometime in the fall.
