This trail is good if you like to get flat tires. The surface is made of recycled GLASS. Boy why didn't I think of that. Anyway I had to fix two flat tires on the trail and than come home and dug out ten more pieces of glass out of my tires. Stay off this trail if you ride a bike.

Clarion-Little Toby Creek Trail
Bear on trail

By thefred in 10/3/2004 12:00:00 AM |

This was my first time on trail. Two days after seeing a bear on the Pine Creek Trail I saw a mother and three cubs cross the trail one mile from swing bridge. They never saw me. I waited about three minutes then went on by. Other than that the trail is worth riding on. There are plenty of spots to swim in the summer and the surface is great.

Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Park
THE BEST

By thefred in 8/3/2003 12:00:00 AM |

"I rode on the trail with my son Nick, my friend Tony and his son Tony for four days. This is the best trail I have rode in 15 years of riding trails. In one day we saw so much wildlife I could not list what we rode by. And don't forget the historic aspects of this trail. The tunnel at Paw Paw is the most impressive structure on the canal. If you can only visit for one day I suggest riding from Hancock to Williamport."

D & L Trail - Lehigh Gorge State Park Trail
Has everything!

This trail is a must do. The parking is very easy -- get off at White Haven exit on I-80 and park under the I-80 bridge (parking never runs out). I traveled 100 miles to get to this trail and it was well worth it. It's a very scenic and slight downhill ride from White Haven. The Lehigh River is always right beside you. I went for a swim on a hot day with my son and our two friends. We also did a small hike right off the bike trail. It's a GREAT TRAIL!
