Big Creek Greenway

Nice Trail

We’re from Charlotte, we have a trail similar to Big Creek (Sugar Creek), not nearly as long…we really enjoyed our ride and look forward to coming back.

Jekyll Island Trail

Jekyll Island Never Disappoints

This trail is a nice wide path that runs around the island in wooded area and along the beach. It is a beautiful ride. The trail is crowded in places on the weekends.

Hampton Spur Bike Trail

Disappointed

March, 2024 by susancnett

I am not sure where the 5-star ratings are coming from- maybe we only saw the worst part, but we were unimpressed. We only did the southern tip of the trail. It is a wide sidewalk, separated from the road by a grass median strip that is only about 2 feet wide at parts.

The concrete was not in the best shape, and in a couple of places where the concrete had heaved, they had not milled them to make them safer for folks on smaller wheels, like scooters or rollerblades.

There were numerous street crossings, and the "trail" runs in front of stores and gas stations.

I think the best thing about the trail is that it connects other sidewalks, so if you live or stay in the area you can get to places without adding your car to the already heavily traveled streets.

Man O' War Railroad Recreation Trail

gorgeous ride

Wonderful trail. Steady incline to Pine Mountain. Plenty of restroom spots. Gorgeous scenery. Highly recommend this well paved trail for all bikes and all levels. About 33 miles round trip. Shorten as needed. Seems like an extra 4.5 miles will be added in a few years. Not very shaded in some parts, but we road this in spring, so maybe the trees will cover more area. A few road crossings that are very well marked, and one larger intersection. Free parking in Pine Mountain.

Chattahoochee Riverwalk

Nice cruise

Started at Lumpkin road south end. Easy 7 to 8 mile ride into town. Good access to food etc using exit ramp just before Indigo Hotel.

Ocmulgee Heritage Trail

Not ready for prime time currently

February, 2024 by sidresnick_tl

Feb '04: Started at the park and things went sour. Downed trees, homeless encampment and debris from highway construction made areas impassable. I gave up, returned to parking and took a hike in the opposite direction. The path along the river is bike-able and promising but before you go, check conditions and wait until the highway construction finishes and the area is cleaned up.

Silver Comet Trail

This is the best multipurpose trail I've had the pleasure of using.

Carrollton GreenBelt

The trail was great, every now and then there are big hills and sharp curves. But it's best to do it when it's dry outside because there are lots of board walks.

Piedmont Park

Beautiful and busy urban park

January, 2024 by jaleonard9

Piedmont Park is Atlanta’s Central Park, and NYC’s park’s designer Olmsted was involved in the creation. The park offers winding paths and trails, as well as skyline views over lakes and fields. For runners, it connects to the Beltlines going both north and south, and also Freedom Parkway and the Carter Center. It is without doubt one of the best running venues in the United States. The only downside is crowds and lots of events.

What a pleasant surprise to ride this trail. It was my last day in Georgia and wanted to ride one more time before heading back north. It was an extremely hot day, being on mostly a tree covered trail, it was quite comfortable.

Rockdale River Trail

Very enjoyable!

It was certainly hillier than I expected. I have ridden many trails I have found on TraiLink and this is on the top of my list of great trails.

Oxford Trail

When I did the trail there were hidden bumps in the middle of it, and there was no parking.
