Mispillion River Greenway Description

The Mispillion River Greenway runs through historic downtown Milford on both sides of the Mispillion River. The greenway, which is surfaced primarily with brick and concrete, provides scenic views of the peaceful waterway while linking city parks with various historic sites and cultural amenities.

The eastern end of the path encircles Goat Island, where it is officially known as the Gary L. Emory Nature Trail at Goat Island. The boardwalk offers birdwatchers opportunities to see eagles and local songbirds, while otters, deer and foxes will entertain nature lovers of all ages. Unlike the rest of the Mispillion River Greenway, the nature trail portion is closed to bicyclists due to its rough terrain and sensitive ecology.

Farmers Market, Bud & Bug Festival and other events are centered around the Riverwalk year round.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Mispillion River Greenway is available in downtown Milford at Bicentennial Park off NE Front Street; along Denny Row; at the southern end of Mill Street; and behind the Chamber of Commerce building on S. Washington Street.
