Two Lakes Trail Description

The scenic Two Lakes Trail runs for 2.4 miles between where 48th Avenue crosses the Loup Canal, and the start of the Bob Lake Trail, and Lakeview Road at 18th Avenue. The trail follows the northern shore of Lake Babcock—home to the giant American lotus, the westernmost range of this beautiful wildflower—and neighboring Lake North.

Portions of the trail are tree-lined and it passes through both Lake North Park and Loup Park, as well as a wildlife refuge along 83rd Street.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Two Lakes Trail is at 48th Avenue on the western end. You can also park at Lake North Park off Lakeview Road just west of 18th Avenue and off Lakeview Road near Loup Park, as well as at Loup Campground off 83rd Street.

Two Lakes Trail Reviews

Nice Trail

The trail system is very well maintained and highly recommended. I have no issues with a road bike fitted with 700-23 or 700-25 tires, even on the connecting hard packed gravel trails. The bollards are close together to deny vehicle traffic.

Two Lakes Trail

Including the trail around North Lake it comes to 4.5 miles. Around the Lake you meet Fisherman. The Rail Trail goes through a camp ground and through majestic Cottonwood and Pine trees and across “Caster’s Crossing” ends at a dirt surface trail around South Lake, with bollards to close together for my Tri-Cruiser.
