A real Jewel, this 3 mile trail through woods and around town is worth a stop just to meet Shirley Johnson who has done loads of paper work getting this trail done, with concrete and asphalt surface and a bridge over the Oak Creek, and to get a Tour of Columbia Hall. This is the Danish Capital of Nebraska. Stop at Harriett’s Danish Home Cooking for Great Food and conservation.
See an interesting Round Brick Grain Elevator across the street from the Trailhead. Ride through town for its unique yards. Hike or Mountain Bike “Hannibal’s Woods Nature Trail” Noel Keller 1 0ct 09.

We often would haul our bikes a 1/2 hour to come ride on Dannebrogs' trail. It's so pretty and mostly flat. The kids loved it. Only wish that it made a complete circle without having to ride on streets or sidewalks. They need to add a segment from Mill St. to the trail head by the old elevator on the east side of town. Otherwise, it's a great trail in a neat town! Check out their annual Danish celebration too, it's a hoot!

My wife and I walk the Dannebrog trail at least 3 times a week during good weather and less frequently during poor weather. We moved to Dannebrog because of the trail and try to say thanks by picking up any litter we find along the way.
