While visiting Eufaula for a week, my wife and I walked the trail each morning. What a wonderful way to get the day started. We parked downtown across the street from the Chamber of Commerce, which was great, because we could park under a shade tree. The trail has wonderful views of the lake, especially when crossing the old railroad bridge. There are several benches for a rest stop if needed. There is also a picnic area with tables and some other off trail areas to explore.

I took my 7 year old daughter and had a great afternoon. We started at the chamber of commerce and biked the length of the trail to the recreation complex where there is a large playground. She had fun there for a well over an hour. On the way back we stopped in and checked out a couple of the walking trails which were enjoyable as well. We especially liked the waterfall trail. I could tell I had a pretty good workout because after the riding and hiking I didn't feel guilty for having that large coke float. There are a few hills which require some effort to climb so small kids may have some difficulty but overall it is pretty easy to negotiate. They did a great job laying the trail out and it is very enjoyable to ride. I belive it was about 3.5 to 3.75 miles from start to finish.

The trail starts out with a nice parking area and picnic area. As you go you will see (in order) a flower bed decorated with original cross ties and rails salvaged from the tracks - an original rr car weigh scale - a park area just above a waterfall including picnic tables - a nature trail going to a rare waterfall for this far south - a bald eagles nest - old rr crosings signs including the warning lights - two side trails going to the new and historic cemetery - a retaining wall dating back to the 1800's - great views of Lake Eufaula - a horizontal rock shelf that drips water year-round and then to an old rail road trestle where phase two RTT will start. Also there are other small attractions like blue bird houses, small off trail bridges and benches.

I am a frequent walker on the Yoholo-Micco Trail and I can honestly say that the hours of work and dedication that have been put into this project have paid off. This trail is beautiful and the view of Lake Eufaula is worth the time it takes to walk the trail. The Horticulture department uncovered a hidden water fall that is breath taking and worth the detour to see! If you are in the Eufaula area this is a must see! Thank you Horticulture Department for your dedication to this project!

I have walked the beautiful Yoholo-Micco trail numerous times and each time is a wonderful experience. The view of Lake Eufaula is breathtaking, not to mention the beautiful waterfall that was uncovered by our Horticulture Department after the trail was well underway......it is a cool refreshing spot with plenty of native flora and a perfect photo opportunity. One of the most amazing things that we experienced a few months ago was the eagles' nest and the two baby eagles that we watched soaring over the trail. The trail has become a favorite spot for Eufaulians and we are so anxious to see the next phase completed which includes a trestle over the lake that will eventually take us to beautiful Old Creektown Park north of our beautiful city.
