Description:
From www.cityofarkadelphia.com: The City of Arkadelphia Parks and Recreation Department started the Feaster Trail System in 1980. The first design was made to follow an existing utility right-of-way through an area known as Feaster Park. This first segment was built in 1981. It is one mile in length and connects Feaster Park to Henderson State University.

In 1984, Feaster Trail was designated as an Arkansas Trail and was put into the National Trails System. In 1985, Feaster Trail was expanded with an additional 6/10 of a mile that brought the trail to a new hospital on the western portion of the city.

In 1989, another 4/10 of a mile was added to Feaster Trail to link with Henderson State University's physical education and intramural area. In 2001, the recently finished addition of 7/10 of a mile extended Feaster Trail to Ouachita Baptist University's cross country course, intramural fields, and athletic facilities. In addition, this area ends at an overlook of the Ouachita River.

A map of the trail's route is available on the Trail Web Site. More information can also be obtained by contacting the Arkadelphia Parks and Recreation Department at 870-246-5499, 700 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

Arkadelphia's Feaster Trail is not a "rails-to-trails" conversion.

Parking & Trail Access:
The Feaster Trail starts from the west at the hospital parking lot. The trail then crosses 26th Street to a parking lot that provides additional trail access. The trail continues east along Mill Creek to a parking area before crossing 15th Street. The trail then passes by Henderson State University's Well's Physical Education building before continuing to Highway 7/67 and an unfinished underpass that takes trail users to Ouachita Baptist University's (OBU) football stadium. It then crosses 8th Street to a parking area that takes trail users farther into OBU's campus before ending at an overlook of the Ouachita River.

Walkers and joggers can continue past the east end of Feaster Trail and continue on to OBU's cross country course before looping back to the 8th Street parking area.
