Aspen Airport Business Center Trail Description

The Aspen Airport Business Center Trail, commonly referred to as the AABC Trail or ABC Trail, is a paved pathway, paralleling Highway 82, that leads from a busy commercial center to Aspen's West End neighborhood. Although adjacent to a major roadway, a wide grassy median dotted with trees and the views of surrounding mountains keep the experience pleasant.

As you approach the trail's east end, you'll pass the municipal golf course and, from the eastern terminus, you can connect to the Cemetery Lane Trail, which heads north to Stein Park and a connection with the 42-mile Rio Grande Trail, the spine of the Roaring Fork River Valley's expansive network of trails.

Aspen Airport Business Center Trail Reviews

Nice Afternoon Ride

Wife and I completed a nice loop ride near Aspen. Parked on edge of Woody Creek and rode Rio Grande Trail towards Aspen, exited trail to go through the Wilton Jaffee Sr Park connecting with the Aspen Mass Transit Trail to the Brush Creek Park & Ride along Hwy 82. Crossed the highway for the Brush Creek Trail up to Snowmass Village. Steady climb up into the main part of the village. Very good trail. From the village back tracked to the Owl Creek Trail following it down to the west side of the Aspen Pitkin Airport, trail has some very steep uphill and downhill sections but pretty well maintained. This connected us to Aspen Airport Business Center Trail, made right turn towards Aspen for connection with Cemetery Lane Trail. At turn off for Cemetery Lane we spotted a sign offering free bike bells if stop at Aspen Parks & Recreation, which is right off the side of the trail. After getting a couple bike bells and nice cold drink of water, headed down Cemetery Lane Trail to Rio Grande Trail. Making a right on Rio Grande Trail followed to John Denver Sanctuary along the Roaring Fork River in Aspen. Made a U-turn and headed down the Rio Grande Trail back to Woody Creek. All this was on paved trail (except short distance through Jaffee Park) with only a few road crossings. Very enjoyable ride with some great scenery. Will do this one again.
