Description:
ATTENTION: The path from National Boulevard to Duquesne Avenue is now open; however, it may be periodically closed through 2012 because of the construction of the Expo Light Rail Line.

The Ballona Creek Bike Path follows the channelized Ballona Creek for 7 miles, from Syd Kronenthal Park in east Culver City (National Boulevard) to the Pacific Ocean, where it connects with the Santa Monica Beach and South Bay Bike Path. Along the way the trail passes through residential neighborhoods and then opens up into the Ballona Wetlands, with vistas and wildlife viewing. The path can be accessed off of many of the major streets; there is a pedestrian bridge at Ocean Drive.

Some day the Ballona Creek Bike Path will connect to downtown Los Angeles along the Expo Light Rail Line and may include additional loops into Baldwin Hills and Culver City Park.

CAUTION: In recent years, there have been a few day-time assaults on bicyclists west of Sawtelle Blvd., including under the 405 and 90 Freeway overcrossings. As you ride, walk, or skate please use extra caution, especially around the underpasses. You may want to consider riding in pairs or in a larger group. If you see or experience a problem in the Del Rey area, call the LAPD at 877-275-5273 (877 ASK LAPD) for service in any language.
