The Battell Woods Trail is a network of loops through the forest preserve, between US 7/SR 125 at the south end and Seminary Street Extension on the north end. The eastern-most segment of the trail forms part of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), which heads north across Seminary Street Extension to the Means Woods Trail and south from Battell Woods across US 7/SR 125. Use caution when crossing the roads if you intend to continue on the TAM.

Parking and Trail Access

At the south end off US 7/SR 125 just east of the shopping center, turn north into the trailhead parking area. At the north end there's a pull-out for parking along Seminary Street Extension, just east of town.

mountain Bike trail

This is not your typical rail trail but a hilly narrow mountain bike trail. Lots of roots, ruts and mosquitos
