The Coal Creek Trail provides an easy paved hike or ride for 3.5 miles along its namesake waterway. The trail begins at Bicentennial Park, a grassy picnic area, and passes Rotary Centennial Veterans Park, a memorial to honor the city's veterans. Trail-goers will enjoy scenic views as the path continues through East Canyon Park, a popular place to picnic and play, to the mouth of Cedar Canyon.
Exit Interstate 15 east on W. 200 N. (State Route 56), and take it to its end. Turn left and you will quickly see the entrance to Cedar Canyon Fields at Veterans Park on your right. This provides parking and access to the middle of the Coal Creek Trail.
