Description
The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders officially opened the Cold Spring Bike Path in Lower Township on December 4, 2002.
The 2.72-mile bike path runs from Sandman Boulevard to Sally Marshall Crossing in Atlantic Electric's right-of-way on the former West Jersey and Seashore Railroad Company rail bed.
The bike path includes an eight-foot wide by forty-foot long bridge over an intermittent stream. The trestle was designed to carry bike and pedestrian traffic. The bridge is located approximately 275 feet south of the US Route 9 entrance to Cold Spring Village (see www.hcsv.org for more on Cold Spring Village).
