Collett Park Pathway Description

The Collett Park Pathway begins on the northern edge of the Indiana State University campus, where it connects to the National Road Heritage Trail, a proposed border-to-border route stretching between Terra Haute and Richmond.

From there, it continues north through downtown along 6th Street for most of its journey. Along the way, it crosses the Union Hospital Health Group campus and runs adjacent to Ouabache Elementary School. At its north end lies Collett Park, dedicated in 1883 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park offers modern amenities such as restrooms, a playground, tennis courts, horseshoe pits and athletic fields.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the trail's northern end in Collett Park (off Collett Park Road) and at Ouabache Elementary School (501 Maple Avenue).
