The Creek Turnpike Trail parallels the Creek Turnpike between Riverside Parkway (south of E 96th St.) and Memorial Road. The urban trail is an important travel corridor for pedestrians and cyclists and links neighborhoods, city parks and shopping districts. Though relatively flat, the trail does rise over several road crossings, making for a workout on bike or foot.
You can access Tulsa's popular Hunter Park along the trail. The park has an 18-hole disc golf course, fishing pond, walking trail, playground, covered picnic pavilions and basketball courts. You can also park here to access the trail.
At the west end, the Creek Turnpike Trail joins the
Riverparks East Bank Trail. On the east the trail ends a three-way junction with the
Liberty Trail and the
Mingo Trail.
Park at Sheridan Rd. (no restrooms), Hunter Park (91st St. between Sheridan Rd. and Yale Ave.) and at the southwest corner of 96th St. and Riverside Parkway (with access to the East Bank Trail).
