About the Route

The northernmost point along the trail leaves off from Little Bay Park, which offers lovely views of the Throgs Neck Bridge and the bay.

As the trail heads south alongside the parkway, it skirts Bayside Marina, which has a snack bar and is a pleasant place to rest with scenic views of the water, sailboats, and open sky. As the trail continues south, it passes two adjacent parks, John Golden Park and Crocheron Park, which offer picturesque scenery, places to picnic, and athletic fields.

Joe Michaels Mile (Cross Island Parkway) Reviews

I love it

It is perfect for quick morning ride with nice view.

Nice Ride

This is a short, well paved path. It has plenty of room but a bit noisy from the parkway.

Short, but worth it

Anything less than 5 miles is short for me, so 10 miles round trip. I combined this ride with another in the area near City Island. After driving past this path so many times I sought out the name and finally rode it, very happily. Park at Fort Totten and enjoy the great scenery. Lots of traffic noise near the road, but a small inconvenience for the views.

great walk/bike/run!

Very nice paved path next to the CIP

great ride

Plenty of room, not too crowded. Waterfront views of boats and bridges on the side

Newly paved trail is now open from the marina to Northern Blvd. This is a great ride especially during the week when it is not so crowded. As another reviewer stated one can extend their ride into nearby Fort Totten.

Closed from marina to Northern

Closed for two years now, to all traffic from marina to Northern BLVD

Great trail

It is a wonderful bike ride. If you do it close to sunset, you can enjoy some rich colors overlooking the Throgsneck bridge.

Great trail

The great thing about this trail is you can also ride in Ft. Totten. I usually park on Utopia Parkway and ride all the way to Douglaston Parkway.

cross island

One of the better trails in queens area. Good for all activities.
