Description:
The Murdock Trail, named after an American businessman, travels east-west for nearly 5 miles through northern Lincoln and the Havelock neighborhood. The trail runs along the former Rock Island Railroad, established in the 1850s to ferry passengers across the Midwest.
Along its crushed stone pathway, two neighborhood parks -- Mahoney and Ballard -- provide opportunities for residents to play baseball, basketball, tennis and other sports. For longer journeys, travelers can connect to the John Dietrich Trail and 84th Street Trail.
