Denver-Jefferson Trail Description

The Denver-Jefferson Trail, also known as the Jefferson City Trail, offers a short north-south connector between the Waverly Rail Trail and the small city of Denver in eastern Iowa. At its southern end, you can access Brandt Park and the Denver Public Library. Much of the route closely parallels Larabee Avenue (Highway 63), the city's main thoroughfare, and offers little shade.

The trail is part of the Rolling Prairie Trail system, which, when complete, will include nine communities, three counties, and two state parks. Other completed segments in the system include: the 5.5-mile Shell Rock River Trail and the 6-mile Readlyn Grump Trail.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking can be found at the trail's southern end at the Denver Public Library (100 Washington Street).
