Description:
The Fresno River Trail runs along the river greenway in Madera, providing a recreation and transportation corridor for Madera residents. There are two completed sections that are separated by a railroad track and Gateway Dr. The city is applying for a grant to complete an undercrossing that will connect the two sections of trail. The trail will also be extended along the river to the city limits as the city is able to secure funding.

New Years 2010 Ride on 1/3/10
By dham in January, 2010
The trail is nicely maintained, running along the dry Fresno River bed. The trail follows the Fresno River and runs under Highway 99 through Madera. Midway, it has a break with one end terminating at Rotary Park. There are restrooms, picnic tables and a skate park at Rotary Park.

The other end is on the east side of the railroad tracks. The safest way to catch the rest of the east half of the trail is to go north from Rotary Park up to Cleveland and then come south along the sidewalk on the east side of the tracks.
