General Booth Boulevard Trail Description

The General Booth Boulevard Trail is one in a series of suburban trails in the Virginia Beach area for non-motorized use. The trail runs parallel to its namesake road between Princess Anne Road and Norfolk Avenue. At its southern end, where the trail crosses Nimmo Parkway, head east to pick up the Nimmo Parkway Trail. Likewise, at Dam Neck Road, pick up the Dam Neck Road Trail to head east or west.

The trail ends near the sea in downtown Virginia Beach. From here it's just a hop two blocks east to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. The General Booth Boulevard Trail provides access to parks, neighborhoods, shops, and the beach.

General Booth Boulevard Trail Reviews

Most stressful ride ever!

The sidewalks were in disrepair, the trees were hanging too low, the traffic was unbelievable and heavy. Not one cross walk signal worked. We felt in danger most of the ride! This was a one and done for us! Prefer the Beach Boardwalk area a million percent over this madness!

disappointed with the General Booth

we brought our tandem to VA Beach as we do for all of our beach house family vacations. we have been disappointed in VA Beach-area cycling in general and this trail in particular. there was only a mile or so of recognizable "trail." the description says it runs parallel to the road and that is apparently because it's a sidewalk; and a narrow sidewalk at that. there was a good bridge connection to the boardwalk trail which was THE highlight.

general booth trail. Virginia Beach

Connects to dam neck trail. You can combine the trails and the ocean from and ride pretty safely for 15 mile.

cool bridge!

Not a clear connection from Boardwalk Trail but with Trail Link maps, you’ll find it. Very cool to go over the big bridge. Then follows the busy highway thru residential and business areas including the Aquarium! Partially shaded. Sometimes bumpy from roots or uneven sidewalks.

Decent trail

Begins at the VA Beach boardwalk area. Not marked great, some of the areas are narrow sidewalks. Crossing the roadways can be difficult as well. It was ok but not great.
