Description
The Grand View Trail is an easy trail constructed along portions of the abandoned Alamogordo and Sacramento Mountain Railroad grade. It winds through pinon and juniper and offers a breathtaking vista of desert, mountains and sky. Trail markers and interpretive signs identify plants, animals and geographical features along the way.
There is also a short spur trail across from the main trail that passes one collapsed trestle and ends at a second collapsed trestle by a small stream.
