Grand River Pathway

Trail Map

Description Suggest an Edit

The Grand River Pathway provides an important connection between Jenison in Ottawa County and the extensive Kent Trails system in Kent County. With bridges over Rush Creek and Buck Creek and an underpass at 28th Street/Wilson Street, the trail is the safest way to travel between Georgetown Township and Grand Rapids, avoiding busy Chicago Drive and active railroad tracks completely.

The west end of the trail winds through dense woodlands adjacent to the Grand River. Grandville’s Buck Creek Trail branches off from this segment, passing under Interstate 196 on its way to Wedgwood Park and city neighborhoods. Near the 28th Street/Wilson Street bridge, the Grand River Pathway continues onto Indian Mounds Drive as a split road, with the north lane dedicated to bidirectional bicycle and foot traffic and the south lane open only to eastbound automobile traffic.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Grand River Pathway can be found at the western trailhead at the Grandville Clean Water Plant just off Baldwin Street (near Jenison). The main trailhead is located at the western end of Indian Mounds Drive in Grandville; restrooms are also available here.
