Description:
The trail is located in Hartwick Pines State Park. Foot trails allow access to points of interest in the park and trail folders are available for request at the park office or visitor center. There are trails maintained for mountain bikes and cross-country skiing. Outside the old growth forest and developed areas, the park is open to hunting during established seasons. Signs mark the areas closed to hunting.

Seasonal Restrictions:
The park is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. year-round. The Michigan Forest Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, from Memorial Day thru Labor Day; open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday thru Sunday, Labor Day to Memorial Day. Closed Mondays (after Labor Day), Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The Logging Museum is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, from Labor Day thru October and May 1st thru Memorial Day. Closed for the winter season; November thru April.
