Heritage Trail of Madison

The Heritage Trail of Madison is a multi-use trail system that connects the downtown of Madison, Indiana, with the hilltop section of Madison. A short 3/4 mile long section is now open for public use. With a grade from 6% to 10% the trail is challenging for most users. However, when the remaining sections of trail are open within the next three years the Heritage Trail of Madison will provide a major corridor for all trail users.

The Heritage Trail is located on the grounds of the Madison State Hospital. A parking lot is available approximately 600 feet from the trail head. A map is available on the Trail Website (www.heritagetrailofmadison.org). There is no fee to use this trail.
