Hooksett Rail-Trail follows a portion of a right-of-way of the Portsmouth & Concord Railroad. This section of the railroad was abandoned in 1862, leaving behind an attractive corridor for the trail. The trail provides access to Heads Pond and other quarry ponds, following Browns Brook.
Parking and Trail Access
Park near Heads Pond off N. View Terrace or off US 3 (Allenstown Rd.) where the trail intersects the road.

My wife and I decided to venture to Hooksett and walk the rail trail. The weather was quite nice, and the path was very level. There is plenty to see and periodically, there would be a posting of things to see and a bit of history and a bench to sit. ...
