Huron Valley Trail

Trail Map

Description Suggest an Edit

The paved Huron Valley Trail partially occupies an old rail corridor of the Grand Trunk Railroad. The pathway connects urban areas, neighborhoods and parks, including McHattie and Volunteer in South Lyon, James F. Atchison Memorial Park, Lyon Oaks County Park, Kensington Metropark and the Island Lake Recreation Area.

The trail forms a Y, extending from South Lyon north to Interstate 96 where the trail branches both east and west. To the east, the trail is flat and goes to the Wixom city limits, bordering the north side of Lyon Oaks County Park along Pontiac Trail. To the west, the trail is much more hilly and heads toward the Island Lake Recreation Area and Kensington Metropark. From here you can access both the Island Lake Pathway and Kensington Metropark Trail.

Parking and Trail Access

You can access the Huron Valley Trail from the following parks: McHattie and Volunteer in South Lyon, James F. Atchison Memorial Park, Lyon Oaks County Park, Kensington Metropark and the Island Lake Recreation Area.

Nice shaded trail and relatively flat. It's in need of a limitless repair. I hit a bump yesterday and my chain popped off.
