Description:
Paralleling its namesake thoroughfare, the I-40 Trail stretches across Albuquerque from Unser Boulevard to Tramway Boulevard. Although major gaps in the trail currently exist, it's an important east-west route through the city.

Along the way, trail-goers will enjoy views of two of the area's most impressive physical features: the Rio Grande and the Sandia Mountains. The trail's eastern segment also offers access to Los Altos Park and Sandia Vista Park, providing additional recreational opportunities.

CROSSING THE RIO GRANDE
By twirlymaker in November, 2011
A Great addition to the Trails in ABQ. There is a TrailHead on the north side of I-40
Where the Bosque Trail crosses under I-40, However the Gate to the trail was closed & I could not get my 3-wheel cycle through. Started on the Bosque Trail at the Aquarium off Central Ave. The Bosque has been resurfaced and is smooth. The I-40 has a real grade to the west as it crosses the Rio Grande. Great Vistas. Be careful going east, down grade, as there is a sharp 90 degree turn at the end.. Oct 5, 2011 Noel Keller
