Description

The Iron Horse Trail is one of the longer rails-to-trails conversion in the country. It is primarily a gravel based trail with some crushed rock and is open to mountain bikers, hikers, ATV riders and snowmobilers. Begin the trail in downtown Hurley and travel to Saxon, where the trail ends at Saxon Harbor on Lake Superior.

There are several annual festivities in the area, including the Pumpkin Run ATV Rally in the fall and the Memorial Weekend ATV Rally. There is also a snowmobile rally in the winter.
