Great Backpacking
By Kellie Taube-Anthony in April, 2005
"Absolutely one of the most beautiful trails in Michigan. Hilly, rooted, varied terrain, the trail follows the Jordan River Valley. Feels like you're far away, no longer in Michigan. We've been twice - once in the summer, and once in October at the height of Fall's color season. It was spectacular. (Luckily, the weather held out and was very pleasant.) We found the walk to be long, both in and out - but well worth every step!"

Spectacular Trail
By Paul Z. Uzarski in July, 2004
"July of 2004 my 13-year-old son, Michael, and I backpacked the Jordan River Pathway. This was his first time ever with a pack on. We hit the trail at twelve noon from Dead Man's Hill road. The temperature was in the low 70s with no humidity and full sunshine. The first quarter-mile is all downhill (this is dead man's hill).

The trail is quite beautiful all the way. There are beautiful vistas, wildflowers of wild Irises, lady slippers, lillies and purple sage all along the trail. This is without a doubt the prettiest trail I have ever meen on.

Most of the trail is level with enough rise and fall to keep it interesting. There is a lot of walking along the Jordan River. The first night we stayed at the campgroung that has large beautiful camp sights and picnic tables. There is a pump well, too, all for $10 a night. We took the same trail out, eight miles, that we took in rather than the remaining 10 miles.

The entire trail is very well groomed all along the way. The Jordan River Pathway is a spectacular trail, which I would recomend to everyone. I would have to give the experience five stars."
