Description
The Karamac Trail is a short walking trail that starts under the Interstate 80 bridge on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. The trail follows an old railroad right-of-way; there is a railroad mile marker just a few yards from the southern end of the trail. The trail follows the banks of the Delaware River to old bridge abutments where the railroad use to cross the river. There are areas to park at both ends of the trail. At the southern end the trail starts at a gate near the traffic signal that controls the one land section of Old Mine Road. At the north end of the trail park at the large Fairview parking area and follow a hiking trail down to the river where the rail trail begins.
Parking and Trail Access
From Interstate 80 take Exit 1 onto Old Mine Road. Head north on Old Mine Road. The first parking area is to the left of the traffic light that controls the one land section of the road. The, northern parking area at Fairview is on the left about a mile further up Old Mine Road.
