Description:
The Karamac Trail is a short walking trail that starts under the Interstate 80 bridge on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. The trail follows an old railroad right-of-way; there is a railroad mile marker just a few yards from the southern end of the trail. The trail follows the banks of the Delaware River to old bridge abutments where the railroad use to cross the river. There are areas to park at both ends of the trail. At the southern end the trail starts at a gate near the traffic signal that controls the one land section of Old Mine Road. At the north end of the trail park at the large Fairview parking area and follow a hiking trail down to the river where the rail trail begins.

Trail needs work, its an overgrown footpath now
By mts83 in November, 2011
Visited this trail yesterday and quickly found out why the other reviewer here had trouble finding it. What was once a wide railbed walking trail has now turned into a narrow overgrown footpath littered with downed trees. branches (some of which appeared to had been tossed from Old Mine rd above), and even powerlines. The "JC 96" marker is still accessible with some minor bushwhacking, but any hiking beyond that isn't recommended especially with the downed wires. Could not reach the northern parking area thanks to Old Mine rd temporarily being closed due to recent storms.
Poor Directions
By daveler in October, 2011
I am so disappointed. My family and I drove an hour out of our way to find this trail only to never find it. We used the directions you get when you click on the map. So frustrating. Very poorly marked signs or no signs at all, as if everyone was a local.
"Short, scenic!"
By Fred in March, 2002
" This short rail trail runs a little over a mile from just above the I-80 at Old Mine Rd to a point where old railway crossed the river. The old bridge abutements are still at the former crossing. There are nice views of the river, and fishing is popular along the banks. The grade is fairly level and the surface is foot friendly.
