Print Friendly MapWestchase District’s Library Loop Trail is the perfect combination of fitness and fun. A decade in the making, several groups within the community came together to fund the Library Loop Trail and make it a reality. Whether you're in the mood for a bike ride or a walk, the Liberty Loop trail is sure to offer a great workout for any trail lover - for those looking for a longer route, the Brays Bayou Connector Trail leads south from the loop for over three miles to Arthur Storey Park and the bayou.
The east/west trail is located west of Beltway 8 and north and parallel to Richmond Ave. Parking is available at the public library located at 3223 Wilcrest Dr.
It was a beautiful trail, but now they are so many homeless staying on the benches that it’s unnerving to walk as a young woman on these trails. And there have been many reports from other women that the homeless men are masturbating in public.
The trail has been extended to at least 5 miles and crosses under about 4 streets including Westpark Tollway and leads into Harwin Park just before you reach Aurthur Storey Park. Plenty of Help stations along with benches.
Round-trip on this trail logs in on my GPS as 1.56 miles, if you go all the way down to Rogerdale, cross over the bayou, and come back on the north side. It does not seem to be used at all. On a weekend walk, we saw no one else on the paved trail. Now, during the week, being as it backs up to office buildings, it might get usage. Many trees have been planted, but I'm not sure they're big enough yet to give sun coverage during the hot summer months. Very smooth paved trail. Easy walking.
