Description
The Lower Yakima Valley Trail stretches 14 miles between the city of Sunnyside and the river at Prosser. The entire trail is paved and parallels the Yakima Valley Highway, Interstate 82 and Wine Country Road, as well as the railroad tracks. The trail begins on the eastern edge of Sunnyside near the Eastway Shopping Center then traces a route through intensively cultivated land, exburbs and some light industrial areas before passing through the center of Grandview.
You'll find water at the East Grandview Trailhead and benches between Sunnyside and Grandview. The trail offers little shade, and summer temperatures can be searing.
