Description:
The 1.6-mile McVay Trail in Indianola provides a paved route for cyclists, walkers and joggers between East 5th Street and Pickard Park. The trail follows the bed of the former Chicago, Burlington and Quincy (CB&Q) railroad and is flanked with trees. The trail was named for Ira B. McVay, the first landowner of the railroad right-of-way, which he purchased from the US government in 1851.

At 15th Street the trail crosses the road and heads south to E. 2nd Ave/Rout 92. From here it head east to Pickard Park. At the 5th Street end, you can cross the street to pick up the Summerset Trail.
