Description:
From www.capemaycountygov.net: On Monday, June 16, 2003, the Middle Township Bike Path was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The bike path connects the western side of Cape May Court House to Middle Township's Davies Sports Complex, the Cape May County 4-H Fairgrounds, the future ACCC Campus site and the Cape May County Park/Zoo. The bike path begins on Goshen Road (CR 615) near Church Street and ends on Court House-Dennisville Road (CR 657) near the Cape May County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The bike path is ten feet wide and approximately 0.85 miles in length. The path is located in a Conectiv Energy right-of-way on an abandoned railroad bed. The project crosses the New Jersey Transit/Cape May Seashore Line railroad tracks. A new railroad crossing was constructed approximately 0.5 miles from Goshen Road with a new pre-cast concrete crossing.

The Middle Township Bike Path was a cooperative venture between Middle Township, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, Conectiv Energy and Cape May County. Construction funding was provided through the New Jersey Department of Transportation's Bureau of Local Aid under the TEA-21 Transportation Enhancement program from the Federal Highway Administration.

Nicely paved. Rural. Great connection between the ever-popular Cape May County Zoo & the heart of Cape May Court House.
