Much of the Midland Trace Trail is still in the planning and development stage; however, three short, disconnected segments totaling 1.3 miles have been constructed as of spring 2011.
The Midland Trace will follow the abandoned Central Indiana Railway corridor (a.k.a. the "Midland") from Westfield to the White River, about 0.25 mile south of Highway 32. The future trail will pass through scenic woodlands, cross two historic iron-truss bridges and link neighborhoods and schools in Noblesville and Westfield. The trail will also connect to the
Monon Trail when Monon is extended north and the Midland is extended east to US 31/Meridian in Westfield.
For now, Midland Trace Trail users can travel the trail between Oakridge Road and Quaker Park, between South Union Street (at Martha Doan Cemetery and Memorial Park) and Carey Road in Westfield and from Spring Mill Road to just west of there.
Parking is available at Quaker Park, 17501 Dartown Road. For more information on trail development and access, contact:
