Millstone Hill West Bike Path Description

The Millstone Hill West Bike Path connects the charming communities of Graniteville and Websterville in central Vermont. The trail is part of the Central Vermont Path, a proposed trail network to connect Barre, East Barre, Westerville, Graniteville and Montpellier.

The paved 10-foot-wide pathway begins at Barre Town Middle and Elementary School and travels south for about 2 miles through mostly wooded areas. It ends near the Rock of Ages Center, a popular attraction featuring a 600-feet-deep granite quarry as well as a factory where visitors can watch sculptors and artisans carve the stone. Near the center, you'll also cross a 54-foot historic bridge.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the Barre Town Middle and Elementary School (70 Websterville Road).

Millstone Hill West Bike Path Reviews

Nice Run

It is a little short at 1.4 miles but a nice trail. If you are a flat lander like me, the hills can be a little bit of a challenge but not bad.

Good local path

Not particularly long at 1.4 miles, but a nice path for a quick workout. Adjacent running track if one wants to put in some speed work. Also good trail for kids: creek for salamander hunting, soccer field, granite outdoor bowling alley at Rock of Ages. The hill is tough for very young children. Those under about 6-7 years old will probably need a push if biking.
