New Springville Greenway Description

The New Springville Greenway stretches just over 3 miles, primarily paralleling Richmond Avenue on New York's Staten Island. A highlight of the paved pathway is its proximity to Freshkills Park, a former landfill that is being converted into open green space. The trail begins in Bulls Head and heads south to Eltingville. Along the way, you'll find a wetland overlook, benches, and bike racks.

On the north end of the trail, you can hop on an existing bike lane on Arlene Street. Near the southern end of the trail, at Richmond Avenue and Forest Hill Road, you can connect to the Staten Island Greenbelt, which heads east towards LaTourette Park and spans 2.6 miles.

Parking and Trail Access

New Springville Greenway is accessible by the MTA bus system via the Eltingville Transit Center, located at Arthur Kill Road and Richmond Avenue on the trail's southern end.

New Springville Greenway Reviews

Great trail

Amazing ride, almost not realizing your next to a busy thoroughfare, not to many hills so you don’t feel the distance

Many varieties. Through woods, paved paths. Convenient if you need to pick up something from any of the hundreds of stores around

Good ride

This is a nice ride as it takes you thru some wooded areas then you drive along Richmond Ave for a good part. You can continue along a very narrow path on Arthur Kill Rd to get into Bloomfield park and continue your ride in there as well.
