Described by Snow Country as "arguably the best in the United States," the cross-country skiing network known as North Valley Trails stretches for 22 miles between Ketchum and Galena Lodge and offers 130 km of skiable terrain. The North Valley Trails is an affordable, family based system that combines a blend of natural beauty and athletic challenge with varied terrain that wanders along streams, through open meadows, and spans the Boulder Mountain range.

The Wood River Trail extends north-south in the valley and passes interesting landmarks such as Bald Mountain, Boxcar Bend on the Big Wood River and the towns of Hailey and Bellevue.
