Description:
The "Old Mill Stream" is the nickname given to the Blanchard River and the many sawmills and grist mills that once lined its banks. The river holds a prominent place in the history of the area and even had a song, "Down by the Old Mill Stream," written about it. The Old Mill Stream Parkway is a multi-use linear park that runs from Blanchard Landing to Riverbend Recreation area. It follows the Blanchard River, linking several parks, boat access sites, trails, historical areas, and the Blanchard River Greenway (page #). The Heritage Trail runs through the entire parkway, offering shelters, boat access points, and activity centers.
