Old US 40 Bike Path

This commuter route between Sacramento and Davis parallels the Union Pacific and Capitol Corridor rail line on the adjacent old US 40 right of way. From Davis, the separated path runs between the rail line and I80 to Road 105. From Road 105 the route shares County Road 32A to the Chiles Rd onramp. The trail restarts and is adjacent on the north side of I80 as it passes over the Yolo Bypass for about 3.5 miles into West Sacramento. The ride is noisy due to the heavy traffic on I80, but the Yolo Bypass harbors abundant waterfowl that help make the trail more interesting.
