I found one Trail Marker for Olympic Parkway Trail which is listed on TrailLink as a 1 mile Rail Trail. Then I found a historical Denver & Rio Grande Western map of the railroad into Park City. The old RR went very close to the Olympic Flag Plaza in Park City. Now the trail meets the RR bed about 0.4 miles north and stays on the grade with slight deviations to Meadows Dr. 0.9 mile. Hwy 224 obliterated the the RR grade for the next mile, then the RR turned north on the west side of McLeod Creek and went straight north 2.8 miles to Kimball Junction. I call the asphalt trail that continues along 224 to where it ends at Silver Springs Dr., “The Olympic Parkway Trail“.
Starting from Park City the Olympic Parkway Trail follows McLeod Creek to Meadows Rd., and opens up to give a wonderful view of the Mountains & Valley, descending on a 1.2% grade, with great access at the Farm Trailhead. Then a slight climb and a descend to its end. Noel Keller, 2 May 2011
