Parking and restrooms can be found in Memorial Park (106 Jennings Way).
Short trail, fully paved, and well shaded. The main problem I had was it was a one way trail. There are parking lots at either end but no way to connect and not a fast way back to the other one. I take some points off from that because if you didn’t know you would end up 2 miles away from your car.
My sister and I just started what we like to call Cycling Sundays to just get out of the house, get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. I downloaded the TrailLink app and have absolutely loved it. We found this Trail on it and decided to try it out. A lot of the older reviews made me a little weary, especially the ones regarding the safety of the bridges. I am here to reassure everyone that those wooden bridges are no more, they were replaced with metal bridges. All in all we loved the scenery and hope that the other end of the Trail opens back up soon.
We enjoyed our bike ride with our young daughter just learning to ride. Although the holes in the bridges are pretty gnarly for training wheels and half of the path is closed.
The bridges on the trail are wooden and have holes in them that are covered by plywood. I fell off my bike when my tire hit a piece of the plywood and was banged up pretty bad.
I found this trail using this app. Great place if you are looking for a short trail to pace your self.
It's a somewhat hidden gem. My wife and I walk on this trail at least weekly. Very serene, and other walkers are almost always pleasant, sweet folks. We've never felt threatened by any seedy human elements. The City of Stockbridge, Ga., does a pretty good job of maintaining it, moreso if you phone their stretched-thin Parks department with a request, such as, please remove a fallen tree, etc. People say that parking at the Memorial Park (106 Jennings Way, Stockbridge) end of the trail is more secure than the Flippen Road parking lot at the other end... but we've done both and never had a problem at either. We've seen foxes, turkeys, Canadian snow geese, ducks, possums, armadillos, hawks, a big 20" wide tortoise and a jillion squirrels and turkey vultures, and there's a number of wildflowers to delight. Oddly, no snakes or gators so far, even though some of the surrounding area is the bog of Reeves Creek. Every season has its charm on this diverse trail.
Be very careful. Do not park at the entrance off Flippen Road. My vehicle was broken into yesterday in the time it took me to walk the trail.
I have ran on this trail a couple times, but i went biking on it last week. This is a great trail and is 3 miles long. Only thing i noticed was that the pathway was not at clean as the pictures but its probably just due to the fall season.
They are starting construction on this trail and it at least looks like it will be extended a 1/4mile but not sure how long due to it just started
It's a nice out-and-back paved trail connected to a small Stockbridge public park. The city's website says that the trail is completed at 1.5 miles, but it seems clear that additional forest is being cleared to extend the current path. The park features a blacktop loop that measures one third of the mile . Winding through the woods between neighborhoods, the trail is primarily level and shaded. Several short wooden bridges and boardwalks are very sturdy, and also very slick when wet. Exercise with caution! According to the sign in the park, pets, skates, bicycles and skateboards are not permitted.
I ride my bike on this trail every weekend.Its short but I go back and forth and it's very shaded.
Great paved trail, few people, lots of shade. Perfect for walking and jogging, probably not long enough for biking unless you're just starting out. A little hard to locate the first time, it's hidden away but that's what makes it so nice and the park is lovely.
