Rocky Mountain Greenway Trail Description

The Rocky Mountain Greenway Trail opened its first 7-mile section in 2016, but is one day planned to stretch 25 miles across the northern Denver Metro area, including the suburbs of Westminster, Arvada, and Broomfield. The trail will connect city dwellers with the region's open spaces, city parks, and three national wildlife refuges: Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Two Ponds, and Rocky Flats.

The pathway has a mixture of surfaces, some paved and some crushed stone, and currently extends from the Westminster Hills Open Space to Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge. Along the way, it curves around Standley Lake and offers scenic views of distant mountains.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the Westminster Hills Off-Leash Dog Park (Simms Street and 105th Drive, Westminster) and at Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge (9210 W. 80th Ave., Arvada).
