Description:
The Rolling Prairie Tri-County Trail consists of several segments, a few of which are complete as of summer 2011:

The 6-mile Rolling Prairie Trail itself extends from Allison to Clarksville. This asphalt segment is paved into Heery Woods State Park in Clarksville. The park offers fishing, boating, camping and picnicking, as well as a nature center.

Additional segments include the 5.5-mile Shell Rock River Trail, also known as the Butler County Nature Trail, which extends from Clarksville to Shell Rock. At the Clarksville terminus, the trail ends 1 mile east of the town where riders can use a bike lane along County Road C33 to access the Rolling Prairie Trail to Allison.

Other segments include the 7-mile Waverly Rail Trail, which also links to the 2-mile Denver-Jefferson Trail and the Readlyn Grump Trail.

When complete, the Rolling Prairie Tri-County Trail System will include nine communities, three counties and two state parks.

Parking & Trail Access:
In Clarksville access the Rolling Prairie Trail at Heery Woods State Park (N. side: 19195 Highway 188; S. side: 27887 195th Street). You can also access the trail at the intersection of West Jefferson and South Ely streets or from Volunteer City Park.

In Allison, access the trail from Wilder Park on Highway 3 (southwest of town). The trail entrance is at the back (northeast) section of the park.
