Rountree Branch Trail Description

The Rountree Branch Trail begins where Chestnut Street in Platteville crosses the Rountree Branch stream and continues 2.7 miles to Keystone Parkway. The trail connects trails on the UW-Platteville campus to a trail that will continue to Belmont, Wisconsin. Construction of the segment connecting to Belmont is scheduled for 2016-2017. The Rountree Branch Trail parallels Business Highway 151 for much of its length allowing easy access to businesses along the corridor. It also provides an offroad connection to the Keystone Development retail center. Currently about half of the trail is paved. Some segments are gravel/limestone, but the trail will be fully paved and lighted by August 2016.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the trail-head in the parking lot for Delta 3 Engineering located between Chestnut Street and Business Highway 151. The parking lot can be accessed from Chestnut Street or Staley Avenue. Parking is also available at the Keystone Retail Center. The trail is easily accessed via the multi-use path that runs along Commercial Drive.

So peaceful and beautiful. I will look forward to walking the trail as the seasons change.

Platteville, WI Trail

Well maintained and paved trail!! It has a stream running alongside, well lit with LED lights, dog park, workout center. By November 2017, this trail will be paved all the way to Belmont!!! Can’t wait!
